How a wild idea on the shores of Lake Lumot became the Philippines' first lakeside geodesic dome glamping retreat — and a true community experience.
Glamping Etc. Philippines was born in May 2019 from a simple question: what if you could sleep under the stars in total comfort, right on the shore of one of Laguna's most beautiful lakes?
Founded by a passionate couple and built with the hands of the local community, every dome was constructed on-site from 100% local materials — bamboo, timber, and ingenuity. The result is a retreat that feels genuinely Filipino: warm, resourceful, and deeply connected to the land.
A local extended family serves as caretakers, cooks, and guides. When guests arrive by boat from the Lake Lumot terminal, they don't enter a sterile hotel — they step into a living community on the edge of an emerald lake.
Every design decision at Glamping Etc. begins with nature. No AC, no WiFi, no concrete footprint. The lake, the trees, and the sky are the primary amenities.
The domes were built entirely from local materials, by local hands. Supporting and celebrating Filipino craftsmanship is at the heart of the project.
Guests consistently describe feeling like part of the community — not visitors to a polished resort. The extended family of caretakers makes that feeling real.
Off-grid doesn't mean roughing it. Luxury mattresses, soft linens, private rain showers, and a freshly cooked breakfast — nature, elevated.
The 20-minute boat ride isn't an obstacle — it's part of the experience. It marks the transition from the ordinary world to something extraordinary.
What you see is what you get. No hidden fees, no over-promises. Just an honest, warm welcome and an unforgettable lake experience.
From a bold idea on a lakeside to one of the Philippines' highest-rated glamping destinations — five years of growth, community, and dome-building.
Glamping Etc. Philippines opened as the country's first lakeside geodesic dome glamping retreat on Lumot Lake, Cavinti, Laguna. The first guests arrived by boat, stepped onto the bamboo jetty, and entered a world apart.
Dome BalaGhee and Dome Veera were constructed entirely from local materials by the local community, pioneering a new way to experience Philippine nature. Each dome was assembled panel by panel, right on the lakeshore.
Despite the pandemic, the property adapted with private dome rentals, becoming a sanctuary for those seeking safe, secluded nature escapes. The isolation of the lake became a feature, not a limitation.
A third lakefront geodesic dome and the Triangle Tent expanded the camp's capacity, welcoming families and larger groups. The Attic over Pavilion followed, opening the retreat to team outings and reunion groups.
Dome Veera achieved a perfect 10.0/10 Exceptional rating on Airbnb with 50+ reviews, cementing Glamping Etc. as one of the Philippines' top glamping destinations. Dome BalaGhee earned 36 reviews at 10.0/10 Perfect.
